The world’s leading international fair dedicated to contemporary and modern art from Africa and its diaspora, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, has officially announced the participating galleries and special projects for its seventh edition on the African continent, taking place in Marrakech from 5–8 February 2026, with a Press and VIP Preview on 5 February 2026.
Hosted once again at the iconic La Mamounia Hotel, 1-54 Marrakech 2026 will welcome over 20 exhibitors from 12 countries, reinforcing the fair’s role as a major platform for artistic exchange between Africa and the global art world. The Marrakech edition remains the fair’s flagship event on the continent, with a strong focus on the Moroccan contemporary art scene, complemented by international perspectives.
Moroccan Presence and New International Voices
This year’s edition will feature eight galleries based in Morocco, including Loft Art Gallery, MCC Gallery, and La Galerie 38, offering audiences a deep engagement with the country’s artistic vitality and cultural richness.
Alongside these are four international galleries participating for the first time across any 1-54 fair:
ELLEPHANT (Montreal, Canada), Imvelo Art Studios (Lusaka, Zambia), The Art Affair (Luanda, Angola), and The Lobster Edition (London, UK / Tunis, Tunisia).
Artists exhibiting at 1-54 Marrakech 2026 come from across the African continent and its diaspora, including Samuel Nnorom (Nigeria), Khanyi Mawhayi (South Africa), Aïcha Snoussi (Tunisia), Roland Dorcély (Haiti), and Girma Berta (Ethiopia), among many others.

Special Projects
Fondation TGCC – Constellations
Fondation TGCC presents Constellations, a group exhibition bringing together finalists and winners of the Prix Mustaqbal, its emerging contemporary art prize launched in 2021. The project features artists Amina Azreg, Ines Abergel, Hiba Baddou, Insaf Benali, Hiba Dahibi, Khadija El Abyad, Hajar El Moustaasime, Yasmine Hadni, Khadija Jayi, Imane Laaribi, Safae Labzae, Mouna Ahizoune, Louisa Ben, Sabrine Lahrach, and Safae El Kadi, highlighting new artistic voices shaping the future of contemporary art.
ABLAKASSA – In Between Blues
Running from 3 February to 30 March 2026 at DaDa Marrakech, In Between Blues is an immersive, multidisciplinary project exploring the colour blue through sculpture, installation, textile, design, sound, and gastronomy. Curated by Roger Karera and Jean Servais Somian, the project unfolds across four environments: BLUE, BLUE NOTE, BLUE NIGHT, and THE BLUE TASTE, offering a multisensory cultural experience.
