Lagos, Nigeria – The Artmiabo International Art Festival (AMIAF) 2025 is set to take center stage in Lagos from April 29 to May 1, bringing together artists, curators, and industry leaders to examine the evolving relationship between art and commerce. Under the theme ‘Artconomy: Redefining the Global Art Experience,’ this year’s festival will spotlight how artists can thrive in the digital economy, tap into new markets, and expand their influence beyond traditional gallery spaces.

Miabo Enyadike, Founder and CEO of AMIAF, revealed that the 2025 edition aims to explore art’s critical role in shaping local and global economies. As the creative industry emerges as a key economic driver, the festival will highlight strategies for financial sustainability, technological integration, and economic expansion within the art world.

“Artists are entrepreneurs. The creative economy is expanding rapidly, and we must redefine how we engage with it to ensure artists are not left behind,” Enyadike emphasized. She underscored the need for the art industry to evolve alongside the rapidly changing global marketplace, ensuring that artists can maximize their creative and financial potential.

A Platform for Innovation and Growth

AMIAF 2025 will serve as a dynamic space for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work, connect with global collectors, and engage with the latest trends in digital art, including NFTs, AI-driven creativity, and innovative monetization strategies. The festival will highlight how African artists can harness technology to expand their reach and gain international recognition while achieving financial stability.

Beyond the exhibitions, AMIAF 2025 will feature engaging panel discussions, masterclasses, and networking sessions designed to bridge the gap between the African art market and global industry leaders. Experts from the creative, tech, and business sectors will provide insights into how artists can leverage digital platforms, attract investors, and navigate the shifting landscape of the art economy.

Building Nigeria’s Presence in the Global Art Market

Dr. Festus Adeyemi, Dean of Vocational Education at the Federal College of Education Technical in Akoka, Lagos; AMIAF 2025 curator Yusuf Durodola; and AMIAF Founder Miabo Enyadike will play instrumental roles in steering the festival’s discussions and activities.

AMIAF 2025 is expected to offer significant benefits to the art community, expanding the market for artists by connecting them with collectors, gallerists, and investors eager to support African and global contemporary art. Additionally, the festival will foster collaboration between artists, tech innovators, and business leaders to shape the future of art commerce.

By redefining the intersection of art and commerce, AMIAF 2025 aims to solidify Nigeria’s standing in the global art market while promoting cross-cultural exchange and creating new economic opportunities for creatives. As Lagos continues to grow as an international art hub, the festival is set to play a key role in driving artistic innovation, economic empowerment, and global visibility for African artists.
