Renowned African designer, Ashanti Design, is set to dazzle audiences with their distinctive handwoven lighting as part of the ‘Joy From Africa to the World’ campaign at V&A Waterfront. The festive installation, crafted by Ashanti Design, features a life-sized cable car, symbolizing the iconic Table Mountain Cable Car—one of the seven wonders of the world.
As a key participant in the annual ‘Joy from Africa to the World’ (JFA) campaign, Ashanti Design joins forces with artists, makers, and illustrators to create expansive installations that spread joy throughout the neighborhood. This year’s theme, ‘Between the Mountain and the Sea,’ captures the essence of Cape Town, with its vibrant culture and iconic landmarks.

The installations, paying homage to beloved Cape Town landmarks such as Table Mountain, the marine paradise, Cape Wheel, Clock Tower, colorful Bo-Kaap buildings, and Mouille Point lighthouse, showcase the rich fauna and flora of the region.
