In a remarkable achievement, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s youngest male artist at the tender age of 1 year and 152 days. The young prodigy’s journey into the art world began serendipitously when his mother, Chantelle Kukua Eghan, an artist herself, noticed his keen interest in painting at just six months old.
Chantelle recounted the moment she discovered Ace-Liam’s passion: “While learning to crawl, I spread out a piece of unstretched canvas on the floor and dropped some paint on it as a way to keep him busy while I worked on a commission painting. He ended up spreading the paint all over the canvas, and in the process, he created his first masterpiece titled ‘The Crawl’.”
Since that fortuitous day, Ace-Liam’s talent has blossomed. He has created over 20 paintings and participated in his first group exhibition, The Soundout Premium Exhibition, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ghana. His work received an overwhelmingly positive response, with nine out of ten displayed pieces being sold.
The young artist’s unique approach to painting is driven by his curiosity and joy. Chantelle describes his creative process as spontaneous and mood-driven. “Once his painting area is set up with canvases and paints, he chooses the canvas size and colors he prefers, and then he starts applying the paint carefully yet spontaneously,” she explained.
Ace-Liam’s achievements have garnered significant attention from both national and international media, as well as from notable figures such as the First Lady of Ghana. His story has sparked conversations about early childhood talent and the importance of nurturing artistic abilities from a young age.
Chantelle, who is immensely proud of her son’s accomplishments, hopes to further support his development by exploring international scholarship opportunities and platforms to sell his artwork. She emphasizes the importance of encouraging children’s interests: “Every child is unique, and nurturing their passions can lead to amazing discoveries and achievements.”
