Nigerian photographer Ayodeji Awoyomi has made history by winning the International Prints Photographer of the Year award in the student category, organized by the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP). Awoyomi’s stunning entry in creative fine art photography emerged as the top choice among over 1,000 competitors from around the world, making him the first Nigerian to receive this prestigious honor.
Born in Ekiti State, Nigeria, Ayodeji Awoyomi hails from the Odoba Royal Dynasty of Usi Kingdom. His academic achievements are as remarkable as his artistic talents, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology/Earth Science from Ekiti State University and two Master of Science degrees in Wildlife and Ecotourism and International Business from both local and international institutions.
Awoyomi’s professional journey includes serving as the official photographer to the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka. In this capacity, he consistently delivered high-quality images and videos for various projects, events, and media platforms. His excellence in photography has also earned him recognition as one of the 100 most creative under-40 fine art/portrait photographers in West Africa.
